Escape special HTML characters and Unicode entities
What's this
This is a Java Script tool for webmasters who want to put some symbols, or non-English text on their websites. Because there are many different encoding systems in this world you can't just copy and paste special text symbols into an HTML file and be happy with how your page displays it. You place it in encoding number one in your text editor and your user's browser thinks it's an encoding number two, so webmasters have to use only the most compatible symbols in their html code.
With help of this tool you can convert text with non-default symbols into compatible text with html entities of these special characters.
If you just want to post some text on some facebook, myspace, twitter, youtube, etc. - you don't need this. Those services do it for you automatically.
If you want to put symbols from my collections somewhere else on the internet, please, link to them (meaning credit me) in your post. For legal reasons and well.. even more like because it is a great reference, huh? =)
How to
Put here text with special characters you want to convert.
If you want tags like <b>
to be transformed into <b> and symbol codes like ® to become encoded to their own entities (&#174;) aswell
Press "CONVERT" button.
If no, press "KEEP <>&". This way you'll keep stuff <div class="bla">₧</div> as it is and convert partially-converted text (like make ₧₧ -> ₧₧).
